About
It does not matter whether you are a new driver starting out in the sport or a seasoned team
racing in the European Championships, the price structure and attention to detail is the same.
As Steve's reputation has grown, so have the companies facilities which now boast an extremely
accurate state of the art Dynosens Rotronics engine dynomometer specifically designed for kart
engines plus the very latest Sunnen honing, machining and CMM measuring equipment.
Every day engines continually arrive from all over Europe to be rebuilt race prepared for their next
race meeting.
So the company has grown and many would say that Steve is a victim of his own success as he
harries through the day making sure every engine is just right and gets out on schedule.
But one thing hasn't changed and that is Steve's continual quest for perfection and his honest, no-
nonsense approach to his customers.
Steve Ogden
Steve Ogden has
been involved in
karting for over 40
years. Steve raced
and then began
providing driver tuition and advice at both
British and European Championship levels.
In the early years Steve had to fit his
karting in and around his full time job as a
teacher.
In 1990 with the amount of work
increasing, Steve decided to move full
time into the karting industry.
With a teaching degree in Engineering
and 12 years experience of educating
youngsters, kart racing tuition and engine
rebuilding seemed a natural progression.
In the early days Steve's interest centred
on the 100cc classes, working on engine
preparation, chassis supply and race
support, this was also supplemented by
general engineering work. He now focuses
on the Rotax FR125 Max and IAME X30
and Gazelle Cadet classes, but also still
working on engines in the various 100cc
classes.
Steve is passionate about engineering
excellence and has always been extremely
interested in the mechanical side of the
sport. Over the years this has directed
and streamlined the business into what it
is today. A company that specialises in the
race preparation and fiching of race
engines.
When Steve started preparing 100cc engines in the early nineties, he initially worked on his own, in
a small rented unit, just outside the market town of Boroughbridge in North Yorkshire. In 1994 he
relocated into a purpose built industrial unit nearby, where he still resides. This enabled him to buy
specific machinery dedicated to the karting industry. At this time he was a Gillard and Tonykart
dealer, servicing the complete package, with track support and driver tuition. As the customer
base has grown Steve has had to take on more staff and the current work force of 5, consisting of
Steve, his wife Heather, Richard Dobson (9 years), Dave Young, (5 years) and Paul Cooper (3rd
year engineering student).
Steve and Heather support the Euro championship meetings, whilst Dave and Richard split the
domestic calendar between them.
It seems to have been a long journey from 1984, teaching and repairing engines in a garage
outside his house, to the present full time occupation, in a superb purpose built workshop
environment.

racing in the European Championships, the price structure and attention to detail is the same.
